The trajectory of my career so far has been a strange one, but I think you’ll see how it is an asset, making me uniquely qualified.

I have been working since I can remember. I made business cards with my sister and we got to work, doing everything from weeding to house-sitting and dog walking around our neighborhood. I started babysitting soon after, and then had internships every summer during high school and college. I worked for PR and Communications firms, Ogilvy & Mather, an outdoor education program, and a New Mexico Chamber of Commerce. I was Membership Vice President of my college sorority and we had a record-breaking recruitment that year!

I received my education at Kinkaid High School in Houston, TX and Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. I graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and a Bachelor of Arts in English, along with a minor in French. After a decade of work experience ranging from Fortune 500 companies to start ups to nonprofits, I returned to SMU and graduated in May 2024 with my Master’s in Human Rights and Social Justice, and my currently pursuing my second Master’s in Social Work from Boise State University.

In the past, it’s been a pleasure to serve my community by partnering closely with the Texas Center for Justice and Equity and Equest. I also co-founded and help lead an anti-racism book club that has been foundational to my personal growth and education. I have recently been proud to serve the Human Rights Campaign, partner with Dallas Hope Charities and Dallas For Change, and I’ve become a member of the National Organization for Women. I currently volunteer with the Empower Network and Fat Con.

    • Virginia Forsythe Vint Pride and Commitment: senior who has embodied pride and commitment to sorority through her involvement within the chapter, on campus and someone who you feel does a great job representing the sorority. The award is voted on by the active members of the Alpha Xi Chapter and is presented at the Gamma Phi Beta Founder's Day.
